How partners are selected

We list a partner only when it meets these criteria:

• It is an established travel brand with a clear booking and support process.
• It maps to a real Iceland travel need (flights, hotels, vacation homes, car rental, tours).
• It is reasonable to recommend to a first-time Iceland visitor without small print surprises.
• It does not rely on misleading pricing, dark patterns, or aggressive upsells.

Commission rate does not determine placement. Go Car Rental is included as a local Iceland car rental option alongside EconomyBookings because some travelers prefer a local pickup partner; both are presented honestly so visitors can choose.

Affiliate links vs. official resources

We treat these as two clearly separate categories and label them accordingly throughout the site:

• Affiliate / partner links may earn us a commission. We label them as partner links near every section that uses them.
• Official Iceland resources (Visit Iceland, SafeTravel, Vegagerðin, Veðurstofa Íslands) are never affiliate links. They are included because they help travelers plan safely.

No fake prices or fake deals

We do not publish made-up prices, fake "live deals", fake discounts, fake review counts, or countdown pressure tactics. Travel pricing changes constantly — the only honest place to see current prices, availability, taxes and fees is the partner site itself.

Safety-first planning

Iceland is weather-driven. Our planning guides reflect that:

• We never claim Northern Lights are guaranteed.
• We point travelers to road and weather checks before key driving days.
• We avoid promising specific itineraries that could push travelers into unsafe conditions.
• We flag winter, F-road, and remote-route considerations where relevant.

How content is reviewed and updated

Guide pages carry a visible "Last updated" date. We review partner descriptions, official resource links, and seasonal guidance periodically and after any major change reported to us. When a partner stops being a sensible recommendation, we remove it.

Who maintains this site

TravelDealCenter is operated and maintained by Marteinn Hilmarsson, based in Iceland. Marteinn is responsible for partner selection, editorial decisions, and corrections.

Corrections

If anything on this site is inaccurate, outdated, or unfair, please tell us and we will fix it. We prefer to be corrected publicly than to be wrong quietly.
